Hi there, I am Francisco Santos!

I hold a master’s degree in Bioengineering and Nanosystems from the Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon. Over the course of my master’s, I studied a variety of interesting topics including nanotechnology, micro and nanofabrication techniques, biomolecular engineering, cell and tissue engineering, and functional and comparative genomics. Additionally, my thesis was developed in the field of biomaterials, where I was able to produce novel nanofibre reinforced hydrogels for articular cartilage substitution.

I was born and raised in Mozambique and moved to Madeira (Portugal) in 2017, where I completed my bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from the University of Madeira. During this time, I also interned at the Madeira Chemistry Research Centre (CQM) as a Junior Researcher in the Molecular Materials and Coordination Chemistry Lab, which allowed me to improve my understanding of organic and inorganic chemistry and exposed me to the world of nanotechnology and nanomaterials.

I am passionate about biomedicine and nanotechnology and am always seeking out new opportunities to further my understanding of these disciplines.

I am excited to connect with other professionals in the nanotechnology, bioengineering, and biochemistry fields on LinkedIn and explore new opportunities for growth and collaboration. If you have any questions about my background or want to discuss research, feel free to reach out to me.
